Just a `pyramid-selling scam’
IF THE Lightning Process worked for Ms Gibson, she never had ME in the first place. Her understanding isn’t congruent with 60 years of biomedical research into what the World Health Organisation defines as a neurological disease.
Chronic fatigue syndrome is the unscientific moniker ascribed to a heterogeneous group of illnesses and excludes the crucial aspects of the infectiousness of ME, as well as the brain injury from which symptoms find their origins. There is no correlation between psychiatric disease and ME, unlike the bogus category of chronic fatigue syndrome — so much for the yuppie flu vs couch potato theory.
Adrenaline metabolism is involved, but is only one, relatively minor, aspect.
How could a three-day ‘process’ cure anyone of the catastrophic effects of ME on the immune system, cardiovascular system, endocrine system, brain injury, mitochondria) dysfunction and multiple co-infections? The Lightning Process is little more than a pyramid-selling style money scam with many of the hallmarks of a cult.

i know lots of people who had ME who are better who’ve done the LP. Your article doesn’t make sense, I think you’ve misunderstood a few things.

The members of my M.E. group who have done this questionable and unscientific ‘therapy’ have relapsed dreadfully. They have each spent over £500 on it; one young man is on benefits. None of them have had a refund or any follow up at all.
Anyone who ‘recovers’ doing this or any other form of psychobabble never had the serious neurological illness M.E. in the first place; there is no diagnostic test for M.E..

LP made me so ill I was bed bound for weeks. The cost of this scam was outrageous. It is just a money grubbing scheme run by unscrupulous people who pretend to have recovered from M.E. They don’t have a recognised medical qualification between them.

I have just been through the 3 days of the lightning process as a carer with my daughter who has had ME for nearly 2 years. It is a very real disease with her losing out on school, on the floor in agony if she doesnt have permanent pain killers, in a wheel chair due to not being able to walk without pain and being absolutely knackered with any activities.
We were just as sceptical about the LP at first, we forked out for the £560 and went along. My daughter to her credit gave it her all and was extremely positive – afterall what did she have to lose – the doctors had tried everything else including 2 MRI scans.
To explain the background to the LP you have to understand NLP, the LP is essentially using NLP to affect your bodies biological chemicals. To control the adrenaline and keep your immune system and lymph system working so toxins as not trapped. This is done by working on catching negative thought processes and turning them 180 degrees into positive ones thus changing your whole bodies chemical imbalance.
After day 1 my daughter no longer had any pain, for the first time in nearly two years she took no painkillers. Had she done that the day before she would have been on the floor in agony. Thats not to say it was all in her head, far from it she used her mind to release her bodies own built in painkiller by altering her neural pathways.
After day 2 she walked a mile then went home and played the wii fit, with the biggest smile I think I have ever seen. The week before she would never have been able to do this, certainly not without a lot of pain and certainly not without crashing. She walked back with a cane for balance and somewhat unstable but taking our time we made it.
After day 3 she was feeling great, working on how to take this back home with her to her life and how to get back into school. Her balance was much improved and I cannot thank the LP practioner enough.
If you know anyone who has ME I would refer them to the LP without a shadow of a doubt. Yes there is a cost involved but we have spend a fortune on fancy foods, painkillers, gadgets and all kinds of other “cures” in the last 2 years. £560 is money well spent to see my daughter back to normal health, in fact I believe the LP will enhance her life to much better than before.
A truly great process – using your mind to change your body to overcome a truly physical disease.

LP is just as worse and as much crap for ME as CBT and all the other silly therapies that only work if you DO NOT have ME.
Very simple. So stop promoting LP.
